meet the CEO & founder

kristin

Kristin C. Jennings, LGSW, was born in Washington, D.C., on New Year’s Day. Kristin has a heart for serving others and fostering a sense of belonging with everyone she encounters. Kristin has been married to her husband for twenty years, and together, they share four beautiful children.

Kristin works in the D.C. Public School System as a Connected Schools Manager, overseeing school and community partnerships. In this role, Kristin connects families with resources that support their social, emotional, and academic needs, contributing to their overall health and well-being.

As a licensed mental health therapist, Kristin specializes in wellness practices that cultivate the spirit, mind, soul, and body from the inside out. Kristin believes everyone is worthy of soul care. Through cognitive-based therapy and strategies such as mindfulness meditation, breathwork, and journaling she helps individuals thrive by fostering a greater sense of self-awareness.

 

Kristin is passionate about all things wellness. She believes that prioritizing well-being empowers individuals to love their neighbor as themselves.

Kristin is the Founder of “My Wellness Weigh-In.” Her passion for the wellness space comes from her desire to be better connected in spirit, mind, soul, and body. Kristin states, “When I take care of myself, I show up to spaces better.” Kristin birthed “My Wellness Weigh-In” to create a space to educate others that in order to love your neighbor as yourself, you must pour from a place of overflow. Overflow comes with intentionally renewing your mind which enables you to master the moments. What makes My Wellness Weigh-In unique is that it embodies a holistic approach that the everyday individual can embrace as they walk out their wellness journey.

My vision and mission is to help individuals break free from unhealthy thoughts and belief systems that have held them captive. I am passionate about educating others on the significance of wellness and its profound impact on our quality of life. Bringing awareness to the interconnectedness of the spirit, mind, soul and body is essential to fostering well-being and shaping who we are. Once you experience what it feels like to walk in wholeness, you will never want to settle for anything less.    

the history

Kristin admits that learning to take time for herself has been a journey, but she has come to understand the importance of holistically caring for herself. Kristin states that she is well when she walks in complete wholeness—from the inside out. Kristin has always been drawn to sacred spaces that encourage one to pause, reflect, and reconnect.

Life often moves at a rapid pace, making it easy to operate on autopilot. By disciplining ourselves to ‘weigh in’ on our emotional, mental, and physical state, we can identify triggers, reset, and establish boundaries that support a healthier, more intentional way of navigating life.”

Prioritizing wellness is essential and being intentional about caring for one’s body – as God’s temple – cultivates holistic care.

This revelation birthed the desire to create a space where others can learn and experience what it truly feels like to live well from within.
